Worms are nature's oldest recyclers. They've been at this for 600 million years.
The bigger picture
The work Little Buddies does today — the consulting, the managed systems, the connections we make between waste and solution — is part of something larger.
We're building toward a New Zealand where organic waste from major operations doesn't go to a landfill. It goes back to the land.
The vehicle for that is vermiculture at scale. Worm farming isn't new — it's one of the oldest biological processes on earth. But applying it at the scale New Zealand's food and agricultural industries require is exactly the opportunity we're building toward.
How the model works
The vision is a large-scale processing facility that takes in organic waste from significant operations — food manufacturers, large hospitality groups, agricultural producers — and runs it through vermiculture systems to produce high-quality vermicast at volume.
That vermicast then goes out to farmers across New Zealand as a rich, living soil conditioner that supports regenerative farming practices and reduces dependence on synthetic inputs.
Waste in. Living soil out. Nothing wasted. That's the loop we're closing.
Why the consulting work matters
Every system we help design and every consent we navigate is proof that this model works.
The organisations we're currently working with are demonstrating — site by site — that on-site organic waste processing is viable, valuable, and scalable.
That track record is what we'll take to investors and partners when the time comes to build the facility.
WHO WE WANT TO HEAR FROM
If you're a farmer, investor, or significant landowner who sees what we're building and wants to be part of it, we want to hear from you. This is a long-term project, and the right relationships matter. The conversation is always worth having.
Let's talk about what's possible.
